Anchal (Integrated Child Survival and Development Centre)

The Anchal is a community-based programme model designed and developed by CIPRB to provide a low-cost solution to support early childhood development, reduce the prevalence of injury mortality and morbidity. A study showed that an Anchal is over 80% protective in preventing drowning.
An Anchal provides institutional supervision of 20-25 children aged between 1-5 years from 9am–1pm. It also provides children early childhood development and early learning opportunities. The Anchal also regularly monitors the physical and emotional development of children.
The guiding principles of this intervention are utilisation of low-cost, locally available resources and community engagement.
